Research On Characteristics Of Two Kinds Of Fibers

Two ways of analyzing optical waveguide that are wave theory and optical ray theory are formulated. Furthermore , analytical solutions of optical waveguide of double cladding that the refractive index of core is lower than the refractive index of inner cladding were studied with wave theory, the expressions of electromagnetic field and modal characteristic equations were derived . Modal characteristic equations of mode HE11, TE01, TM01 are analysed with numerical method and their dispersion curves are given. The refractive index of one kind of micro-structured fiber were studied by optical ray theory, the distribution of refractive index is gived.
