The technology of ICT(lndustrial Computed Tomography) simulation is one of the most important issues in the ICT research field. The traditional researches basically focus on the simulations of single part and few works has been done for the assembly case. Assemblies have the characteristics of "multiple parts and multi-kinds of materials" that make it hard to express the position relationships among assemblies and difficult to get the correct simulation result.This paper introduces the ideology and method of object-oriented simulation model to model the components of the ICT system. We analyze the assemblies' characteristics of "multiple parts and multi-kinds of materials", and divide the process of modeling into two parts: geometric modeling and material modeling. In the process of modeling, we adopt a method which uses the commercialized CAD software UG to aid the assemblies' geometric modeling. On the other hand, an auxiliary file was defined to describe the material of assemblies. This method can realize the modeling of assemblies effectively and perfectly.The design of data flow and arithmetic flow for the ICT simulation system for assemblies are also discussed in detail, and the algorithm to realize the intersection of ray and phantom has been analyzed.This paper proposed a method which uses ray point matrix to simulate the discrete ray source with certain size and shape. This method allows us well testify the phenomenon of geometric unsharpness in the ICT. Considering the gradually increasing in material data and spectrum data in the simulation system, the database technique has been used to manage them. In addition, this paper applies mature 3D surface reconstruct algorithm to reconstruct the simulated slices of assemblies or single part. By comparing the reconstruct 3D results with the original CAD models, a good consistency between them has been obtained.This paper introduces some results in practical application of the ICT simulation system for assemblies. Virtual Phantom and very similar with the real ICT image are the characteristics of our simulated results. The system provides the abundant basic data for the concerned aeronautic science fund and receives some encouraged application effects. Tell in more wide-meaning, the introduction of ICT simulation supplies a virtual digital platform, which has the functions of accelerating research and reducing cost in the development of ICT equipment and in the researches and application based on ICT, and also has the significant theory researching sense and economic value.
