The Study On The Group Ware System Based On OODBMS

With the coming of information era and the rapid advance of modern technology, especially the progress of computer technology, communication technology and automation technology, People attach importance to the application of Office Automation (OA for short) gradually. Nowadays the needs for OA have not been limited to the applications of business and management activities, but have been raised to the analysis and decision activities, put great emphasis on the realization of information share, exchange, organization, delivery, supervision and control, gather various information in together such as character, data, voice, image, and so on, and integrate the systems of Official document management, file management, usual transact services, data decision analysis system, etc, namely groupware system. Because the information in groupware system has Characteristic of complex, various, large quantity, non-structure or structure complex, close relativity of information, etc, and the traditional relational database can hardly handle these complex and various information. This paper aims at the problems that groupware system meets in application, put forward the research on groupware system based on object-oriented database management system (OODBMS for short). The paper firstly introduces the basic functions of groupware system, systematically analyzes the system using object-oriented analysis method and summarizes the characteristics of the system's object model; Then this paper emphatically studies the definition of Object Oriented Data Model and its basic concepts: class, object, etc, research the structure methods of object according the characteristics of object model in groupware system, and describes a example using this data model; Finally for supporting complex objects of groupware system, this paper extents the object oriented definition language according to the standard of ODMG3.0 and defines a example using extended definition language, and this paper unites this object-oriented data model and C++, implements the basic concepts of object-oriented data model according to ODMG3.0; The object-oriented data model provided here fully reflects the complex of object structure and the close relativity of objects of groupware system, therefore, this paper probes into this work for developing an applicable OODBMS for groupware system.
