The Automatic Discovery Of Network Topology Based On Intranet

Network management is becoming a key of network performance. Network topology,a important part of network management, is playing a key role in modern network management.With the incresaement of network equipment , network topology is becoming complex. It is difficult to record network topology with memory and Autocad manually, network topology auto discovery is a new way.This paper analyzes normal network topology and SNMP protocol firstly.The first methoed of automatic discovery of network topology is found based on table data in routers and the second methoed based on a tree-form MAC address table in switchers and the third methoed based on Spanning Tree Protocol. Secondly we discuss how to develop network management software by GIS.
