Ultrasonic flaw-detection is widely used in nondestructive testing applications. A full digital and multi-channel and automatic inspection system based on FPGA and PCI is introduced. The inspection system which absorbs the advantages of digital ultrasonic detection system and virtual ultrasonic detection system is composed of a specific analog box and a PC. With a PCI interface, the high-speed data acquisition and processing card based on FPGA effectively realizes digital detection, real-time alertation and real-time compression of high-speed data. With the powerful data processing ability and resources of PC, the application software based on virtual instrument technology enhances the inspection system's intelligent performances.This paper briefly introduces some basic concepts about ultrasonic detection and then detailedly discusses the implementation of the hardware and software of the system.
