Multimedia Expert System Developing Frame And Application Based On C/S Calculation Mode

This subject is based for the subject topic of 863 program named "Vegetable Planting Agriculture Expert System Developing Frame"(project number: 863-306-ZD05-01-A). After a long-term research which can be divided into three phases as follows: synthetic analysis of expert systems in agriculture area; components research and design of knowledge acquisition, representation, and reasoning result explanation; integration of all the components, the system aimed for non-computer major technicians has been developed. Lately, Client/Server(C/S) calculation based on distributed transaction concepts, is gradually becoming popular. According to application decomposition principles, sophisticated calculations and significant data managements can be undertaken by high performance computer (Server), and application tasks, which require frequent interaction between computer and users, undertaken by common computer (Client). The frame development and system integration based on Client and Server mode realize system function and multimedia data process by data communication, data transfer, information exchange between Client and Server. Multimedia agriculture expert system is becoming an important developing branch of modern agriculture expert system.Multimedia technology combines top technologies in picture, image, animation, sound and video area. In the agriculture area, because of the dominated position of general knowledge and experience over inspiration knowledge and the demand of active information that can be easily understood by peasants, the multimedia technology is significant in agriculture expert system. So, the expert system expresses intuitional knowledge by application of multimedia technology and principle knowledge by system reasoning and decision. This article based on conclusion of expert system relevant concept and fundamental structure, analyses the knowledge representation, knowledge reasoning and intelligence decision and multi-dimension information multimedia inquiry as well. So, knowledge is transformed from simple text into sound, image and video data easily understood by agriculture technicians and peasants in order to impart knowledge and solve practical problems.At the same time, the article places great emphasis on multimedia system developing frame and application based on C/S mode as well as realization of this sophisticated system. Moreover, this article concludes the characteristics of Client/Server mode, relevant problems and ends with research results and flow charts of software.
