Earthquake mitigation for structures using magnetorheological (MR) dampers has much merit, such as fine control effect, low external energy, cheap cost, simple construction etc. It has a wide application foreground for our country due to many earthquakes. Thus, more and more experts at home and abroad study on this aspect, and acquire many achievements. But there are many problems about choosing of control current of MR dampers and time-delay existing in MR structure, which require be solving and completing.In this paper, the major aim is that studying determination of control current, time-delay and simple simulation. The following work is done:1. Seismic responses of MR structures are analyzed, and three kinds of Bang-Bang control are compared.2. A problem is choosing the control current of MR damper. In this paper, fuzzy logic controller is introduced to choose the control current, and full-state intelligent control for structures is carried and fuzzy logic full-state control is proposed.3. Another problem is time-delay being in the control of MR structure, hi this paper, one input of the fuzzy logic controller is the seismic acceleration that avoids some time-delay being in the control. But time-delay being in the structure still isn't solved, so the neural network technique is introduced to predict the seismic responses of structures to avoid it, and the bi-state neural network control and fuzzy full-state neural network control are proposed.4. The conventional simulation is complex, so simulation for MR structures is carried by using SIMULINK toolbox in MATLAB.
