With the rapid development of modern communication technology, people, by virtue of communication network resources, have realized the communication that can't be limited by time and space, which has broken the traditional way of communication, not only facilitating people's life and work, but also profoundly impacting almost all fields of society. Communication network offers a bridge for data transmission, while computer technology offers equipments of large capacity memory and management equipment of high speed. Thus, the perfect combination of computer technology and communication technology provides powerful technical support and guarantee. Neverthless how to make use of current resources of communication network and computer technology to develop a kind of communication system which is ecnomic, real time, high reliability, besides unlimited by time and space, has become a goal that people make great efforts to pursue. According to what mentioned above, this paper puts forward the technical research of real-time data communication system between mobile terminal (MT) and remote host based on the network of GSM and PSTN.The research content of this paper is about the alarm and orientation real-time data communication system of MT and remote host, Emphaticly, the paper takes the way that theory directs practice to design the system and develop the corresponding program, meanwhile to make the simulation experience for the program. The following are the main idea of this paper:1. First analysing the merits and shortcomings of the wireless data communication system based on GSM and the wire data communication system based on PSTN from the three aspects of the economy, terminal motility and real-time, then putting forward the subject through measuring and comparing the three factors mentioned above.2. Expounding the features and composing of GSM and PSTN network.3. Theory base of the subject. First expounding the basic principle of data transmission of GSM network from the model of operation join of GSM, the composing of wireless channel, data format and so on; Second introducing the communication principle of GSM and PSTN, and the. function of IWF module, besides expounds the principle of data transmission through illustration.4. Expounding the plan for constructing the system, the working principle of the system and its extensive applications in education and other fields.5. Soft and hardware design of MT system. Its function is to complete full-duplex asynchronous real-time data transmission, namely sending alarm and orientation data to the host or receiving commands from the host. This chapter detailedly introduces circuit connection principle diagrams between MCU and other peripheral equipments such as Keyboard module, UPD16682A module, WAVECOM GSM module andGPS-OEM module, so does the mutual communication programs between them .6.Design of surveillance control center system(SCCS). Its function is that the host computer receives alarm and orientation data from MT or sends commands to MT in virtue of Modem. SCCS makes different kinds of alarm sound according to receiving different kinds of alarm signal, reminding workers of dealing with corresponding alarm in time, and it transmits orientation data to vector map real-timely displaying currently running circumstances of terminal. First this chapter analyses the function of Modem in theory, as well as communication principle of computer and Modem. Second designs program of serial communication using MSComm of VB 6.0, by reason that MapBasic is the second development tool of Mapinfo and a programmable language of developing map information applications, it is unable to directly read datas of serial port used by Modem, unless by means of external program.
