For years, one of the most common used data process forms, the information system has been widely applied. Unfortunately, according to the statistics, no more than 30% products of information systems are worth their value. In contrast to the information system becoming large-scale, distributed, network based and characteristic stressed, the methods and technologies of information system development could not satisfy customer's increasing demands and ceaseless changes of requirements. Due to the particularity, being able to reuse and apply information system is much lower than other computer domains. Therefore, to increase the success rate and adaptitude of developing information system has become a pressing work.Component technology is still a newly arising technology whose theory is far from complete maturity. On the contrary, as the new technology with expansive foreground, it has been applied in many areas. At the same time, much research work has become useful complementarities to make up for the lack of theory. This paper introduces component technology to the reconstruction work of information system and takes some helpful attempts on it. By comparing to traditional developing methods, some improvements and modifications have been made step by step. With some particular introduction and discussion around component design, component extraction, component test and classification, component store and retrieval. This thesis emphasizes the general development steps and methods of developing information systems, and a specific domain component repository was designed and implemented on the basis of embedded research and analysis of the LMIS. Finally, certain concrete developing methods and examples are demonstrated, and some research directions are pointed out as well.
