Detecting impurity for cotton is an important constituent part for all detecting cotton work. Through detecting impurity, we may know the impure content in the cotton. Inspecting amount of impurity and analyzing kinds of impure cotton help to improve on technologic methods for elementary processing cotton and lint of good quality. According to impurity inspection, spinning mill could accurately compute the amount of cotton required and through adopting the correct technologic methods, finished yarn could decrease the defects, reduce the cost, improve the quality and uniform the strips. So impurity inspection is very important.The thesis mainly describes detecting system. The system is a high and runtime cotton processing system basing on DSP (TMS320C6201) and coring on a PC used in the industrial control. The system sample data by CCD camera, process the data by DSP and harmonize the peripheral equipments by PC for sorting the impurity and displaying the cotton in the pipeline .the main algorithms of the system are sorting and coaching.The system is made up of software and hardware .the core part is the PC with the inserted DSP (TMS320C6201). Here mainly describes the realization of the software .the software functions is on the one hand controlling the action of all peripheral equipments, on the other hand sampling data, processing data and displaying. It includes sampling, coaching , sorting ,displaying ,emendation etc.Firstly, the thesis introduces the development background .Then, It sets forth the system structure ,core algorithm ,preface devising ,image displaying and multi-line program applying.
