| MC-CDMA is an integrated technology of OFDM and CDMA. This technology is considered as the core technology of the future 4G wireless communications, because it kept the advantages of OFDM and CDMA, and can be used for multimedia data transmission. So the superior characteristics of MC-CDMA in wireless communication is demonstrated by comparing the BER performance of OFDM system and MC-CDMA system.First, the fundamental principles of OFDM-CDMA technology are introduced. Based on the analyzing and comparing of three solutions of OFDM-CDMA, it can be concluded that MC-CDMA is superior to others in performance. This conclusion can be the reference for the practical usage of OFDM-CDMA.Then, the system model and its simulation flow chart in Matlab are introduced for MC-CDMA system. And some technologies of MC-CDMA and their functions in MC-CDMA system are emphasized, such as frequency spread of data in frequency domain, IFFT and Cyclic Prefix, and so on.Last, based on the MC-CDMA system model above mentioned, the Matlab simulation is done. By the simulation of the BER performances from White Gaussian Noise, Peak Power Clipping and Combating Multipath interference are analyzed, and some conclusions are obtained that MC-CDMA is superior to OFDM.
