Multi Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) is a new Multi-Carrier modulating technology for broadband mobile wireless communications, it is an integrated technology of OFDM and CDMA, combined the advantages of both. In the high speed data transmission, the performance of MC-CDMA is obviously more excellent than OFDM. So it is considered as the core technology of the future 4 G wireless communications. The superior characteristics of MC-CDMA is demonstrated by comparing the BER performance of OFDM system with MC-CDMA system in this thesis.This thesis introduced the development of MC-CDMA and related technology, emphasized on the fundamental principles of OFDM and MC-CDMA by analyzing and comparing three solutions of OFDM-CDMA, then the mathematics model of MC-CDMA was given.Based on the system model of MC-CDMA and its simulation flow in matlab, we discussed the primary technologies and their function in the system. Including frequency spread of data in frequency domain, modulation of signal, IFFT transformation, Cyclic Prefix, and so on.Last, the matlab simulation was done based on the system model mentioned above. By the simulation of the BER performance from White Gaussian Noise, Peak Power Clipping and Combating Multipath interference are analyzed, we obtained the conclusion that the performance of MC-CDMA is superior than OFDM in wireless data transmission. The idiographic analysis of performance was given at the same time.This thesis established a model for the design and simulation of MC-CDMA system on the basis of OFDM system, it also provided useful reference project and data for system realization.
