Optical fiber is used as composite material self-diagnosis. Many results have been reported in the fields. But only hollow core optical fiber and solid optical fiber are embed in composite material to detect the impairment and distortion of composite material. The paper attempts to develop a new kinds of core liquid, we can get a new liquid core optical fiber by it. While we make sure of location of impairment of composite material, we can repair composite material by the kinds of core liquid. In final, the smart structure's self-renovation and self-diagnosis will be realized . The content of the paper is as follows:(1) The paper attempts to explain characteristic and capability photosensitive adhesives, and the principle of solidify;(2) The paper also gives the effect of different solvent on speed of solidify ,and the effect on light-power and wavelength on speed of solidify;(3) The author selects the best favorable adhesive, and makes liquid core of optical fiber by it, and measures major parameters of optical fiber;(4) The author studies compatibility between core material and composite material;(5) The author studies capacity of optical transmission of liquid core optical fiber, and compares the effect of core materials in optical transmission and the difference of liquid core optical fiber and hollow core optical fiber, and gives analysis results.The results show the core liquid material can transmit long wavelength and solidify in short wavelength. It can satisfy the need of optical transmission and light repair of special liquid core optical fiber.Liquid core optical fiber that be developed by the paper can be used in smart structure's self-renovation and self-diagnosis . There's a happy future.
