In this article we will introduce the design and implementation of National High Performance Computing Environment (NHPCE). NHPCE is also called GRID, which is implemented by GRIDWARE. The software of resource information management and collection is a very important part in GRIDWARE. Its aims are as follows: 1. To provide the uniform platform of resource information management for GRID system; 2. To assure the accuracy and integrality of GRID resource information expression;3. To assure the secure storage of the resource information;4. To provide the integral and effective management tools for GRID resource information;5. To assure the uniform of resource information in condition of wide-area- distribution of GRID system.NHPCE, composed of the homemade supercomputers, is based on the present high-performance computing resources of our country. It is designed to implement a platform for high-performance computing. Nowadays, we have used NHPCE to build up many test nodes, which are successfully installed and run the GRIDWARE system.In Chapter One, we briefly introduce the NHPCE project, and then in Chapter Two we introduce the LDAP. Chapter Three and Four are the main parts, in which we introduce in detail the design and implementationof Resource Directory Management. In Chapter Five, we give an explanation of some programs related to this article. In last chapter, we bring forward the concept of GRID security, and make a preliminary design of future work.
