The Study Of LDAP & The Design And Implement Of LDAP Server

It has been about 10 years since LDAP was born. LDAP version 3(in 1997) supports referral and SASL secure authentication. There are many LDAP products in abroad, and many applications in home, for example, CA system requires to put their certificates into LDAP server.This paper discusses in depth LDAP v3: protocol model, the contribution of DNS to LDAP, the flexible configuration of LDAP Server and two techniques referral and replica in distribution system.LDAP server is a special database. This paper analyze Berkeley DB, and try to illustrate these embedded databases such as Berkeley DB are suitable for LDAP server. After analyzing LDAP protocol this paper discuss how to made MS SQL Server Database be the backend of LDAP Server. Finally from the LDAP client we test the server performance with Idbtn or with relational database.Additionally, we discuss the security of LDAP, and how to put the application within the firewall out of the firewall through LDAP server. Specially, in this thesis we fulfill the design using UML and implement of LDAP connection pool.
