After 1990s, information industry and data traffic network have greatly mushroomed and influenced industrial automation. New type industrial networks such as DCS, Fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet have brought a high-level revolution in industrial automation. However because of the disunion of the international standards of Fieldbus and indirect interconnection and interoperation between different kinds of Fieldbus products, the openness of Fieldbus can not be achieved easily. With the rapid development of information technology, the ability of seamless integration between management layer and field control layer is required as well as an open infrastructure by enterprises and consumers. Traditional Ethernet has gradually entered the industrial control field in the same time.According to the requirement of industrial network, the scheduling of real-time traffic, Network management, control strategy and test method of Industrial Ethernet were discussed combining traditional Ethernet technology and switching technology in this thesis. We analyzed the analyzed the redundancy design and provided the ideal system design of Industrial Ethernet.The main content of this thesis is listed as follows:1. Firstly, we make an overview the history and the latest achievement of industrial network and compare Industrial Ethernet with DCS and Fieldbus. We also introduced the history and the development of Industrial Ethernet. We make a discussion on advantages and problems of Industrial Ethernet and pointed out the direction of research for this thesis.2. We studied the control strategy of Ethernet in-depth and designed specific example of network configuration; then we emulated the example on simulation software and analyzed the results of emulation in detail. We also tested the basic performance of network such as throughput > transmission latency and fault recovery latency and qualitatively analyzed the results of the test.3. To the non-deterministic of traditional Ethernet, we studied the technologies such as full-duplex switched Ethernet network, VLAN, QoS and IPv6 technology in detail, which are used to realize the ability of real-time of Industrial Ethernet.4. Base on the characteristic of Network Management System, we discussedVIthe architecture of Industrial Ethernet Network Management System. We analyzed data-obtaining process of industrial field based on OPC and put forward a new remote supervise system based on XML technology.5. Lastly, we analyzed the redundancy design of the core layer and the distributing layer of Industrial Ethernet and provided the schemes of redundancy design. At the same time, we discussed the pattern design of Industrial Ethernet, provided the ideal system design of Industrial Ethernet and pointed out the new direction-hybrid system of Industrial Ethernet in the future.Finally, we drew a conclusion and propose the future research directions.We believe that Industrial Ethernet will have a bright future of application in industrial control field. There are still some key problems needed to resolve. Positive study would be helpful to push Industrial Ethernet forward in application.
