Research On Product Data Management System

PDM is an inevitable process for an enterprise to be an information industry. It is not exaggerated that PDM will be the basic configuration in an enterprise in the future. In that time,the software for PDM will surely be perfect,with high quality and can fit for kinds of enterprises.By research on software for PDM,we can see clearly the change of an era and computation with network. All software will develop in this direction including software for PDM.PDM is a kind of logistic thinking,which studies how to manage product data and how to manage them better. The realization of PDM depends on various technologies,including technologies of database,network and system analysis object oriented,etc. In this article,some useful exploration was made on how to develop a PDM software with actual technologies. This is a primary exploration,and the function of the system are not too much and not too perfect. But some valuable experience was got by the research of this project.The composition of this article is in accordance with the development of the software,from understanding PDM,drawing out research direction,analyzing the object oriented system,studying related technologies to modeling and realizing the system. At last,the result of work is described. It is hoped that this article can provide some referenced value for some software development technicians.A PDM system prototype was founded based on the PDM theory and object oriented software,database and network technologies were applied. A three-layer system frame according with J2EE standard was adopted in system structure and ORACLE was used as basic network database of system,so that the data can be saved safely and searched with high speed. This system has such basic PDM functions as project management,human resource management,right management,product configuration management,etc. And,it was applied to a certain extent in enterprises.Due to the object oriented software engineering idea in this system,it has high expansibility and can fit for complicated client environment. The system has a good transplantable character and can change database easily. Using this system,product data of enterprise can be saved and managed safely and effectively,complicated data relation among productdata can be founded. The integrality of product data is supported very well.
