Concurrent engineering and agile manufacturing are the production manners in the 21 centuries. Networks Supported Cooperative Design, NSCD, is an important part of concurrent engineering. It is necessary that managers, designers, manufacturers and users are able to participate in the design at different places synchronously or asynchronously. With its help, the quality of product can be improved and the time of developing product can be cut down . The technique real-time edition of geometric model is one of research topics in NSCD. Supported by the NSFC (No.59875087), major work in this paper is as follows.1. Summarized the state of the art in NSCD and discussed the key technology of NSCD. Proposed the technological plan of multi-location real-time edition of geometric model in order to solve the key problem in NSCD.2. Based on the research outcome of the research group,recombined and added the modules in the privious system developed by the group,completed the real-time add and delete function of geometry,and supplemented the modify function 2D geometry.3. Improved the information exchange mechanism of the previous system and established the collaborative mechanism of multi-users. Raised the flexibility of the new system and realized multi-location collaborative edition of geometric model. 4. Modified and optimized the dynamic data format.Therefore, reduced the load of network in collaborative design to meet the requirement of real-time and enhanced capacity of rapid response and stability of the new system.5. Developed the computer interactive interface of the new system in order to improve the interactive function of the system.
