The Study Of Median Filter In Reai-Time Video Tacking System

In this paper, four fast algorithms of median filter (MF) are analyzed and a new hardware structure of MF is proposed. Based on the characteristics of video signal and the requirements of TV Tracking System, the circuits and the principle of 13 MF and the separable 33 MF are dissected. Computer simulation and experiments show that the separable MF in TV Tracking System is most suitable to filter out isolated narrow noise signals from video signal. A real-time micro system of MF for TV Tracking is given. At the last, the results are discussed in detail.
