The development of imaging simulation is introduced and the principle of optical remote sensing is studied in the paper. And the solar radiance, the influence on radiance transmission by atmosphere, the spectral properties of ground object and the characteristics of photoelectric imaging system are analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of three kinds of models such as, MTF model and PSF model are given on the basis of comparing each model. As a result, ray tracing model and MTF model are integrated as the mathematic model of this paper. MTFs of each unit such as atmosphere, image jittering, optic, detector, electronics are given. Direct solar irradiance, spectral transmission and atmospheric up well radiance under certain circumstance of atmosphere and radiation are also computed in virtue of software LOWTRAN7. The course of data flow of digital simulation is defined, including transform of spatial information and transfer of radiance. And then, imaging simulation software is programmed with Visual C++ MFC to implement the course. Using this program, the final simulation image can be given birth from the original during the step of transferring it through the whole remote sensing image course according to the input factors of each unit of image chain and atmosphere. As a result, the direct analysis of the influence on the final image is carried out.
