The Research And Implement Of Configure Management In Brand Network Management System

Nowadays the network develops rapidly and the scale of the network is more and more expanded, which makes the devices are multiplex. The difference of the function and running environment between the devices makes network management is more and more difficult. So designing a good network management system is very necessary. With the development of the broadband network, the technology in broadband network is complex and the devices are provided by the multitude vendors. How to manage the operate network effectively is the ISP's difficult problem.The thesis is based on the research of Broadband Network Management System which is independently made by Institute of Communication and Computer Network of CCNU. The author is in charge of designing the whole architecture and the implementing the configure management module.The concept, the architecture of network management and main network management international standards are introduced in the thesis. The requirements of the configure management, fault management, performance management, account management and security management are introduced Further more, it introduces the reference model, its components and main products of Simple Network Management Protocol used for computer network. Also it retrieves the history of SNMP, prospects its tendency and discusses the difference between SNMP and CMIP.The technology in broadband network and the relevant network management standard are introduced in the thesis. It discusses the multiplex types in broadband network and introduces the necessity and difficulty when managing these devices in a unified network management system.The configure management in the network management are discussed detailedly. Because the topology of the network is the basic of configure management, it details the topology discovery algorithm in network management. In more and more complex network environment only combining multiple topology discovery algorithms guarantees the accuracy and completeness of the topology. It analyzes the traditional topology discovery algorithm and discusses the principle and implement of Ping, Tracerouter and DNS. It also discusses the topology of VLAN and the VLAN topology discovery algorithm based on Cisco's devices. Finally it designs a heuristic topology algorithm.In this thesis, finally it details the designing thought, framework of the broadband network management and how to implement the automatic configure on the network devices. It designs template-based network management technology, which makes the system could manage heterogeneous network. Using XML, RMI, and Message Queue makes the system extendable. Finally the example that is how to configure the MPLS using network management technology illustrates the advantage and feasibility of the network management system.
