This paper mainly deals with DSP realization of data transmission of good reliability in HF and VHP communication system. In our research, the following two aspects are implemented.Firstly, a HF Modem for extremely low SNR is designed. We first discusses the designing principles of HF Modem for extremely low SNR, and gives a rather exhaustive introduction of some key techniques, then presents the hardware structure on DSP and software realization, finally the performance is given by experiment. The modem can be used under extremely low SNR conditions, which SNR is-23 dB or there is an hard single-tone interference. It is of good meaning to make the communication under extremely low SNR conditions available.Secondly, a protocol design of transmission control of data link layer is introduced. The protocol can be applied in HF and VHP communication. A introduction of data control protocol are made in detail. The result of experiment indicates that the protocol can ensure good reliability in data transmission.
