In order to promote the efficiency and quality of control software development, and to improve its generality, reusability, extensibility and openness, this paper probes into the research and design of DCS configuration software with software reuse and component technology. Started with the analysis and design methodology of DCS configuration software, this paper put forward the design ideology of reusable component based configuration software, and explores the approach to reusable component development and integration, with focus on COM/DCOM technology. Based on the analysis of DCS domain and configuration software, this paper brings forward a multi-tier component architecture, which promotes the DCS configuration software to be more scalable, reusable and flexible. On the basis of DCS data analysis, this paper designs the framework of data organization and storage, and develops the general data access component. To address the inconsistency caused by various communication modes, a tow-tier component architecture of Communication Agent and Protocol Adapter is proposed, and a set of unified interface is designed. Besides, the ActiveX control technology is employed to design and implement the flow chart and trend chart, the distributed object technology is applied to study remote access, and the solution to Web based industrial data real time release is presented. Finally, this paper discusses the application of DCS configuration software in Heat Network Control System, which runs reliably and obtains favorable benefit.
