| Communication system is a key of distribution automation in the development ofthe Chinese power system. Power line carrier (PLC) - a traditional and specialcommunication means- is widely used in power system, digital Distribution LineCarrier (DLC) technology is the new trend of its development. In this paper, a design forthe composing of distribution network is put forward according with seven-layer 051network architecture. Spread spectrum communication is used as physical implementingtechnology. A new two-state ARQ algorithm is presented to provide reliablepoint-to-point data link in DLC layer. Similar with wireless LAN, the CSMAICA isadopted as the MAC layer protocol of distribution network.
