Researches On Transmission Of IP Over PRN

With the rapid development of the packet radio network (PRN),it is very important for PRN to be capable of transmitting IP packet. And that wireless Internet is the development direction of Internet with the widespread of Internet all over the world .PRN can become the wireless LAN of Internet. This paper first complete the driver of PRN-node-controller, which connect the protocol of PRN and standard TCP/IP protocol . Moreover the problem arising when IP packet is transmitted over PRN is analyzed. Reliable transport protocols such as TCP are turned to perform well in traditional networks where packet losses occur mostly because of congestion .But network with wireless links also suffer from losses due to bit errors. TCP responds to all losses by invorking congestion algorithms. So the performance will be degraded. This paper simulates and analyzes the influence on network performance of SACKs.
