While suffering from huge amount of data and intensive calculation strength, currently known communication system simulation software can only run on single computer. In this paper, a project on Internet-based Distributed Interactive Communication System Simulation Platform is proposed. This project enables complicated communication system simulation to be carried out with high speed on a distributed interactive simulation platform. Because of its Internet-based design, this platform is also suitable for remote application, such as remote education and remote collaboration. In this project, a "self-determination/active" operating-mode of simulation platform is proposed based on Agent concept; Data-driven technology is implemented by "sample-advancing mechanism" to solve the simulation clock advancing problem in distributed environment. Also in this project, component-based programming and multi-thread technology are used to implement software Agent; a "Pipe mechanism" is used to break through some limitations of ActiveX standard; an algorithm-unit package is built for communication simulation. By simulating a complicated m-QAM system, it is indicated that this distributed interactive simulation platform can greatly improve the simulation speed. At the end of this paper, some future works are also discussed, such as improving the fault tolerant ability and intelligence.
