Large-Scale Burden Bearing is an important part in manufacturing especially in steel manufacturing and it is easy to wear out so has to be replaced frequently. Life-span of Bearings produced by our country are commonly short because of unfit design parameter and manufacturing process, which can not meet actual need in production. In allusion to problems of Large-Scale Burden Bearing design in our country such as long design period, complex calculation, difficulty in optimizing the parameter and so on, this paper systemically demonstrates a theory and method for developing professional, intellectualized CAD system. This system is based on the limit design method of bearing, emphasize on analyzing, calculating and choosing tolerance of bearing parameter, and as well introduces design and actualizing method of automatic drawing.Function module design of this system adopt down-adapting designing method. The whole system is composed of several absolute modules, which make it easy to manage and maintain the system. The whole system includes five parts, designing and calculating subsystem, graph managing subsystem, user management subsystem, knowledge repository subsystem and the interface between designing and calculating subsystem and graph managing subsystem. Designing and calculating subsystem is the core of the whole system. It is based on the limit design method of bearing, designs parameter depend on Relational Data Base and transmit the datum that has been searched to graph managing subsystem through data interface.The system adopt Powerbuilder 6.5 to develop designing and calculating subsystem, and use SQL Anywhere for Power Builder 6.5 to manage design parameter and design formula data and so on; Adopt Object ARX to develop graph managing subsystem and realizes parameter replace of bearing assembling drawing and part drawing; Adopt VC6.0 and OLE to realize automatic loading bearing assembling drawing and part drawing under AutoCAD circumstance and execute uniform management on these drawings.The interface for users of the system is easy to operate. The system can calculate or draw efficiently, what's more, the system can be expanded easily. It has been used well in Chendu Kehua Large-Scale Burden Bearing Ltd.
