Research On The Key Technology Of Universal Access System Supporting The Ethernet Service

This dissertation deals with the multi-channel ATM adaptation of 10/lOOM Ethernet and network administration service. First, the fundamental feature of ATM, the method of integrated services access and the AAL5 protocol supporting the asynchronous services are briefly introduced. Then, on demand of "The Practical Universal Access System", one of the major subjects in National 863 Project, some details of Universal Access System supporting the 10/LOOM Ethernet and network administration are described with emphasis on the relevant key technology such as buffer management and mechanism of address mapping, cell scheduling and interruption handling. In this paper, the Combined Dynamic and Static Buffer Allocation Scheme applied to the integrated access of Ethernet and network administration service is proposed. Finally, the interconnecting method of 10/1 OOM Ethernet through the Universal Access System and the test results are presented.
