This paper focuses on the application research offuzzy control method, especially self-adaptive fuzzy control method, in AC driving control system. By theoretic analysis and simulations, the influences of various parameters and structures of fuzzy controller to system performance are discussed, and a self-adaptive fuzzy control method (SAFC) based on self-adjusting of output scaling factor and rule scaling factor is proposed. In SAFC, the adjusting of rule scaling factor is by error and error change, which more coincides with characteristic of system response than the conventional self-adjusting method that adjusts rule scaling factor only according to the error, and has better static and dynamic performances than the latter. A digital AC driving control experiment system based on PC is designed, in which Lab Windows/C VI software development environment and a PCI-1200 data acquisition board are used to facilitate the software and hardware implementations. On the experiment system, the speed and position servo control experiments of AC motor adopting general fuzzy control (GFC), PID and SAFC, respectively, are fulfilled. The experiment results verify the effectiveness of SAFC in AC frequency control system. Lastly, a comparison between AC frequency control system and A C servo system is given, and the feasibility of improving the performance of AC frequency control system by fuzzy control method is also discussed.
