Study On System Desing And Recognition Arithmetic Of A Card Certificate Autoinput System

Abstract This postgraduate paper mainly concentrated on the study of hardware design, implementation and software algorithm of Chinese character recognition for a special mini-type input equipment of image. Firstly, this paper introduced the development and current situation of recognition technology of Chinese characters. Secondly, based on the explanation of fundamental concept and principle of image-acquiring system, the analysis and argumentation of the data acquisition technology used in this paper were produced in detail. According to the requirement of small package and high precision, area CCD image sensor was adopted in the image conversation procedure. In view of the processing target was static image, longitudinal row sampling, a kind of non-real- time gathering approach was introduced in the system design to decrease A/D conversation and data transmission rate from a dozen of million bytes to about 500K bytes. Therefore the advantage of low cost and simplified complexity was achieved. The author bad conducted a lot of research on the computation, selection of hardware parameters and circuit design. Because the data should be fast and accurately fed into Upper computer instead of Lower computer to process, it is worthy to mention that the paper adopted the currently fast development USB interface technology. This kind of superior interface, was widely used in outer facilities of computer, such as digital camera and scanner. It is becoming one of the development trends of computer outer facilities. Because of its easy generalization and convenient link with computer, this interface has great market popularity. In the design of software algorithm of Chinese character recognition, the paper gave emphasis to the study on noise filtering and line and character segmentation. Through the improvement of traditional algorithm, the satisfactory result had been acquired. The whole working system was designed into a mini-type special equipment of low cost, small package and independent equipment of computer. It will have a wide-range application in the departments demanding real-time and accurate input and record of information. The data could be administered by the database and the system could be looked up and managed through network. The ftware programmed by object-oriented language could be easily to maintain and II upgrade.
