This subject is a branch of the project cooperated with Shanghai Baoshan Steel Company, whose title is the R&D of the CAT (Computer-Aided Testing) System Working On Joint Inner-thread. It抯 mainly working on the contactless CAT method on Inner thread. The technology of CAT is a computer-based integrated testing technology that has been developed in recent years. It includes new sensor technique, data acquisition technique and data processing automation. At present, there are various methods of inner thread testing. But most of them are used with contacting method. Because there are so many parameters of inner thread and the parts are usually batch production. It抯 so difficult to measure it separately. And the most broadly used method now of inner thread measurement is synthesized testing. To meet the high developing speed of modern industry, this article brings forward a testing method in quantum on joint inner thread. It integrates the non-contact and high precision of laser sensor along with the speediness and accuracy of CAT. It can finish testing work quickly. During work, the data collected by laser sensor are transferred into computer where they would be analyzed to make out all parameters. During the research work of this project, we met some problems such as the high brightness and the incline of the tested surface may cause errors. To eliminate this negative effect, with plenty of experiments and analysis of the sensor抯 precision, we discovered that we could use spraying method to reduce the brightness and correctly adjust the sensor抯 position to avoid errors. All the experiments proved the feasibility of using laser sensor on inner thread抯 CAT system.
