In combination with technical and tactical specifications requirements of a radarwith some type , this paper researches the generation of linear FM (LFM) signaldigital pulse compression technique as well as the engineering design . The modemsignal processing technique and development of elements are in consideration.This paper discusses main methods to generate LFM signal and disadvantagesThe direct digital synthesis (DDS) technique is decided to be used to generate LFMsignal with different band width and time width .The paper analyzse in theory the LFMsignal pulse compression technique, performance ,parameter selection andcompression performance improvement methods . The computer simulition techniqueis used in this paper to study not only main parameters for pulse compression bits forA/D conversion, sampling frequency , and number of sample points but also the effectcaused by windowing technique on the compression performance main-to-side loberatio , pulse width after compression and target resolution . A large amout of usefulresults are abtained . In combination with the engineering development for a radarsome type , this paper finally gives a paralle-processed digital pulse compressionengineering design scheme , in which DDS technique is adopted to generate LFMsignal and floating-point DSP precessor ADSP2 1062 is the heart . The respectivedesign descriptions are also made for hardware and software.
