At present, China's largest issue should be the population. As the most populous developing country in the world, it is particularly important for our country to solve the employment problem properly. Employment is the foundation of people's livelihood; peaceful life and happy work is the basic premise of social harmony. Meanwhile, employment is the basis of economic growth, and also the"barometer"which reflects the economic status. College graduates are valuable human resources for a country, as well as a vital new force of high quality in the construction of modernization. The employment of college graduates involves the immediate interests of all, the country's modernization and the social harmony and stability as well.With the rapid development of higher education and the gradual expansion of enrolment, our higher education has changed from elitist education to universal education. Consequently, the employment problem of college graduates has become more and more serious. It can be said that a part of college graduates have to face the unemployment when graduate. This issue has caused a high degree of concern from our government and all colleges. The employment difficulty of college graduates involves a variety of factors, such as :the adverse impact of rapid economic growth, the negative effects of related policies and system, the disadvantageous impact of higher education system itself, and college students on their own,etc. I think the defect of employment ability on college graduates also contributes to the employment difficulty. As a result, the improvement of employment ability for college graduates is of highly strategic importance.Based on this issue, the paper takes JGS College as an example. Investigations were carried out through interviews and surveys among college graduates and employing units, and a lot of data were found. The paper analyzes the employment ability of college graduates, raises the existing problems and reasons, and puts forward some feasible proposals from the perspective of improving the employment ability of college graduates.The key to solve the problem of employment and improve the employment ability is to build the running education mode of crucial employment ability for college education, which concerns efforts of the whole society. Therefore, our government and relevant departments should strengthen the guidance, go ahead with the scientific macro-economic restructuring,implement the existing employment policy, accelerate the reform of personnel system, encourage students to create their own business or to work in the west, effectively control the scale of the university, strengthen student employment market system development, improve the personnel service system, develop small and medium-sized enterprises, and strive to create more job opportunities;for colleges, they should change the concept and talent training on the basis of deepening the educational reform, strengthen the employment guidance on the basis of professional set, raise the personal capacity, strengthen the management of community activities, establish the effective competition mechanism, strengthen students'social practice and innovation ability, improve students'legal awareness and psychological diathesis, and improve the comprehensive quality of college students ;for college students themselves, the following aspects should be paid attention to, including a correct conception of employment, a definite goal in life, professional awareness and quality of good deeds, integrity, responsibility, awareness of competition, and skills of employment, with an aim to improve the comprehensive ability of college students, such as .the ability in expression, organization, coordination, etc. |
