Since the reform and opening up, China's economy has experienced tremendous development and living standards have greatly improved, people's consumption situation also has undergone tremendous changes. Since the "National Fitness Program" proposed in 1995, a national fitness craze overshadowed wave after wave. It is being carried out in both urban and rural areas in full swing. Now more and more people are joining the ranks of fitness. The success of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games pushes the wave of fitness even higher level, more people will have a new understanding of sports consumption and feel very proud of that.. At the same time, they also attach importance to their physical exercises. With.the heat passion of National Sports Fitness and the changing of residents sports consuming awareness, sports consumption has bright prospects. The rapid economic development of China's sports spending has given more rich contents for the rapid development of China's sports industry and provides an excellent opportunity for sports development, population growth and the raising of the level of sports consumption. Sports consumption, as an important element of modern life consumption, is not only of great significance for society consumption structure and patterns as a whole, but also is the primary stage for the promotion and development of social productive forces to achieve the goal of socialist production and accelerating development of sports industry. Also the development of sports consumption is of great importance for expanding consumer demand, stimulating economic growth and improving people's quality of life. In China, the sports industry is relative new and the level of residents sports consumption is still limited, so it is necessary to strengthen research theoretically in the development of sports consumption.In recent years, theory, and empirical research about sports consumption continue to emerge, which provides a valuable theoretical basis for an objective understanding of the current levels of sports consumption and measures on how to facilitate the development of sports and other consumer market. However, due to late start of China's sports industry and sports market is not mature, the sports development can not keep up with that of other industries. What is more, the development of sports industry, sports business and sports consumption in our country is also far behind that of other developed countries. Research on sports consumption can be divided into two categories:one is about residents, especially urban residents consumption level of sports, this category are basically pure research, which focuses on the structure and factors affecting research, while it lacks of empirical analysis; and the other kind is survey methodology, which involves the sports consumer research and analysis in China's overall or a particular province, city or state in order to find some of the laws. In recent years, multidisciplinary research is increasing. Both theoretical research and empirical studies have proved that:Firstly, although China's current consumption overall are of low level, the growth is speeding up. Secondly, sports consumption in the current is still physical-oriented. Thirdly, level of income is the main factor affecting sports consumption. This article is based on previous studies and summarizes some relative concludes and it reflects facts and puts forward new proposals and ideas from another perspective. In this paper, on the basis of a large number of reading related literature, it brings forward some others views by way of using data, logic, induction, and comparative analysis of law.This paper consists of five parts, namely Foreword, sports and consumer base analysis, sports consumption influencing factors, China's urban sports consumption and analysis as well as conclusions and recommendations. Preamble stresses the main research background, Literature Review, and research methods, etc.; the second part includes some concepts, classifications and roles of sports consumption etc.; the economic analysis on sports consumption influencing factors is divided into three parts; the fourth part analyses the consumption current situations in China overall, Shanghai and Chongqing from the aspects of sports consumption environment, level and structure.; Finally, conclusions and recommendations are put forward to promote the development of China's sports consumption. Since the reform and opening up, China's gross domestic product has been showing a substantial upward trend, an increase of 80 times the per capita gross domestic product increased by 53 times, and people's living standards have greatly improved. However, the rate of increase in per capita level is lower than the overall growth rate, which has some thing to do with the growing population to a large extent. China's sports consumption is affected by many factors, such as the socio-economic development level, income level, leisure time, and consumer awareness. In order to improve the consumption level and structure of China's sports, we have to improve China's economy and the socio-economic development level, only in this way can people's income levels increase. In the case of price stability, with an increase in disposable income, residents can improve their consumption levels. At the same time to change the concept of household consumption and speed up the building of sports facilities and venues, as well as to further promote the use of western development and the integration of urban and rural consumption levels are the ways to improve sports consumption level.The principal innovation of this article is the combination of economics and the sports industry, through the theoretical analysis of economics, it raises a more reasonable and perfect sports consumer response in order to promote China's sports industry by way of further elaborating the important role of sports consumption in the sports economy and China's market. In 1998, Cai Jun, Zhong Tan and others examined the east and west China city of sports consumption differences on through questionnaires. They selected Shanghai and Xi'an as representatives of the city east and west.. But the above scholars lack of adequate attention and they neglect the economic growth and the development of sports consumption promoted by their mutual relationship during the course of analyzing economic factors. The study ten years ago maybe helpful, but after such a period China's economic and social conditions have made significant progress. The author of this paper regards reform and opening up as background for analysis, there is a more comprehensive understanding.Due to relatively short time of the sports consumption in China, the low research level, small amount of literature and the progress of society, the part of the literature review is not completed well. And because of China Statistics Bureau during the time of the sports industry is not a separate entry, it leads to a lot of dates are not comprehensive, and also a certain lack of convincing analysis. The level of consumption in China is low, sports consumption of the proportion of consumption is very low. Sports consumption in parts of the country belongs to a low or even zero consumption spending. Also the consumption gap between urban and rural areas, cities between is large, it is must go through a long period of economic development to narrow this gap. The overall development of China's sports consumption trend:Sports consumption gradually increases; the purpose of consumption is the purist of happiness, health and long life. Sports consumption is still in the development of an initial stage, research on sports consumption there is still much room for improvement and research value.As an important part of the sports industry, sports spend is a kind of enjoyment to meet people's consumption. Due to people's health needs and improving the quality of life needs is unlimited, people on the sports consumption demand are also unlimited. In recent years, sports consumption in China's affluent cities and some rural areas has become a new consumption hot. It is a response to structural changes in China's consumer laws, there is still potential growth in the service consumption, and it is inevitable and irreversible to continue to be active in the new century.
