Multimedia courseware is the important part of information instruction resources. It is also an important part of subject teaching materials. While developing courseware, people produced a variety of view and thought which are rather scattered and not systematic. So it is too weak to guide the development of courseware. To make matters worse, relevant research is scarce.First we study the subject in educational technology which is still relatively a new concept -courseware development thought. Its elements and composition is analyzed. Secondly, courseware development thinking in China is proposed and some kinds of understandings, views are sorted. Finally, study the relationship between different courseware development ideas. Then summarize courseware development thought and its ideological evolution.The first chapter is an introduction, including background and issues raised significance of research, purpose, basic procedures and methods, and literature review. Theoretical foundation of the courseware development is discussed and the emergence and development of variety of courseware development thought is analyzed by historical materialism in chapter two. The content, features, principles in early stages of ideological formation and development of courseware development in China is summarized and sorted in chapter three. The content, features, principles in rising phase of ideological formation and development of courseware development in China is summarized and sorted in chapter four. The contents, features, principles in diversification stage of ideological formation and development of courseware development in China is summarized and sorted in chapter five. The evolution of thought and the relationship between the various thought are described. The context of ideological formation and development of courseware development in China is shown and the relationship between various thought in different stages is summarized as a whole conclusion. This study is not only a summary of the formation and development of courseware development thoughts in China within the past 30 years, but also a review and summary of an important component of educational technology in China. So it has some theoretical significance.
