The Career Guidance And Counseling Of Community Colleges In The United States And Its Inspiration

In order to promote development and conversion in the role of individual career and life, career guidance and counseling is system engineering with social assistance provided by the interrelated institution. Because of its function in prompting individuals to obtain career success, pushing forward the sound development of their own schools, impelling the sustainable development of socio-economic, career guidance and counseling has aroused more attention of the governments and the education sectors all over the world.Career guidance and counseling was first originated in the United States. It has also been 60 years of history in community colleges. During the development process, through multi-faceted cooperation by the external and internal service network, these services insist on the foundation of the practical and people-oriented service concepts, adopt a holistic approach and take all-round and full continuity of services, aim to promote students'their own career development and improve colleges' social reputation. So the career service in the community colleges is an integral part of the network throughout the United States.In China, the current vocational career guidance and counseling is facing great opportunities and challenges. While the government and the community continue to increase support for the career services in higher vocational colleges, the vocational college students have become increasingly severe employment pressure.So, for the purpose of making full use of opportunities and effectively meeting the challenges, in this dissertation, based on career guidance and counseling in the U.S. community college as the main object of study, the author explores the full range of theory, practice, characteristics, problems, etc. And on this basis, according to China's actual demand, the author puts forward the concept of construction in the career guidance and counseling with Chinese characteristics, and sketches out a blueprint for the network of career services of vocational institutions in China. The ultimate goal above all is to benefit the advance of career guidance and counseling to Chinese higher vocational colleges.
