Research On Cultivating Volunteerism In Non-governmental Organizations

In the golden period of development and the prominent period of contradiction, Chinahas to face many problems which bring by economic transition, social transformation, thediversification of life. Solving these problems requires not onlythe government macro-controland the market flexibility adjustment, but also requires the participation of thenongovernmental organizations which is in the core of volunteerism. As the governmentfailure and market failure frequently-oriented, the non-governmental organizationsincreasingly play a prominent role in the complex modern society. However, thenon-governmental organizations in China is still in the early stages of development, there aremany problems as the deficiency of public awareness, the incompletion of laws andregulations, lack of social incentives. As the soul of non-governmental organizations,volunteerism is the critical to deal with numerous shortages of non-governmentalorganizations, so the government should be to strengthen the cultivation of volunteerism.This thesis starting from elaborating the research background, purpose of the study andresearch methods and content in volunteerism of the non-governmental organizations andanalyzing the status of home and abroad. Then the thesis followed by stating the relevantconcepts, the rise of the background, basic features of the non-governmental organizationsand volunteerism and the relationship between the non-governmental organizations andvolunteerism. And then based on the research about the history of the volunteerism ofnon-governmental organizations in China, I deeply analysis the causes of problems that thedevelopment of the volunteerism in the non-governmental organizations. Finally, we shouldadopt the experience about cultivating volunteerism in foreign non-governmental organizations. Based on the experience of foreign nongovernmental organizations, we candeduce some advice that our government should focus on shaping the voluntary culturalatmosphere, changing the role of government, improve the laws and regulations, deepenreform non-governmental organizations and improve the incentive mechanism, in order to letnon-governmental organizations play a better role on lubricating the harmonious developmentof societyand the government's benign governance.
