Children's education is a systematic project. With the rapid development of society and the continuous progress of education reform, school education is no longer able to undertake education mission on their own as before. It has been a common view in the education world that building a new education mode combining home, school and community together. In this process, home-school cooperation undoubtedly becomes a powerful weapon of building this new education mode. With a history of hundreds of years, The Parent Teacher Association of USA has played a significant role in promoting cooperation between national schools and safeguarding children's rights.In China , although we have an education tradition of emphasizing home-school cooperation , there are problems that lacking sophisticated home-school cooperation organizations. Therefore, understanding and learning mature practices and experiences from other countries are very significant in promoting the rapid development of home-school cooperation organizations. Based on exploring the background, historical stage of development, organizational structure and work of National Parent-Teacher Association, presenting the existing conditions of home-school cooperation organizations, and analyzing the current problems, this research aims at providing useful revelations and enlightenments for the development of home-school cooperation organizations in China. This research consists of four parts: The first introduction part mainly introduces the origin of this topic, the research status both at home and abroad, the identification and explain of concepts relating to this research. The second part mainly introduces the background,historical stages of development Parent Teacher Association. The third part systematically analyzes Parent Teacher Association from the aspects of static organizational structure and dynamic work, and finds out the existing two main issues. Based on the survey of present situation of China's home-school cooperation organizations, the forth part analyzes the current problems. Integrating the experience of the development of Parent Teacher Association,this part also presents suggestions for promoting the development of home-school cooperation organizations in China.
