The status and functions of experiment in physics teaching have been highlighted in the current physics curriculum reform of senior high school. Through detailed analysis and interpretation of the physics experiments in the new curriculum standards for physics of senior high school and the new textbooks, the author observes that not only the total amount of physics experiments in the new curriculum has increased significantly, teaching requirements have been boosted and function extended, but also some scientific inquiry experiments have been added. The author hold the opinion that more emphasis should be placed on the problems of physics effective teaching of senior high school in the process of implementing the new curriculum reform.Effective teaching under the new curriculum is a kind of activity which is organized to achieve the expected goals and meet the social and personal education demands. It aims at the improvement and development of the Three-dimensional teaching demands made up of knowledge and skills, Process and Methods, affect and attitude and values, which is consolidated, harmonic and substantial, via optimal efficiency and effectiveness. Lying on the basis of objective law of education activity. Therefore, the three-dimensional teaching demands are evaluation criterion of the effectiveness of physics experiment teaching. Regulation and control the factors involved in the process of effective teaching of experiment should be taken to improve the effectiveness of experiment teaching.Through the questionnaires to students in senior high school of three types in An Hui province. The author find, there exists considerable disparity between the present situation of teaching of physics experiment in senior high school and instructional objectives of the new curriculum. Such as, the deficiency of experimental instruments and equipment to some extent, low open rate of experimental course. The developments of students are just confined to knowledge and skills, whereas the cognition of students about physics experiment is superficial, and the way of bring up students, Scientific Literacy inquiring ability is very limited, etc. To solve these problems, the author puts forward novelty ideas that improving the effectiveness of teaching of physics experiment, including change ideas of experiment teaching, strengthening and improving regular teaching of physics experiment, carrying out irregular experiment of physics actively, organizing Scientific and technological activities, encourage students to invent simply, strengthens to study teaching strategies of scientific inquiry experiment, and so on.
