In new stage of the century, the ideological and political education work of college students is faced with new challenge and situation where some issues can not be ignored. The indisputable fact is that the working effectiveness should be improved. It is of extremely vital significance to build "five-elements-one-entity" ideological and political education mode which is an integration of education, management, service, growth and cultivation of college students. It is not difficult to recognize the fact that, since the founding of our country, the ideological and political education mode have experienced the following ones, such as "education-management"; "education-management-service" and "education-management-service-growth". Each kind of the modes is based on the changes of social situation, personal growth of college students and deepening understanding of education. The ideological and political education mode, which is the integration of education, management, service, growth and cultivation, is the reforming and perfecting of traditional working mode. Its realistic, professional and direct theoretical basis is the Marxist Theory, ideological and political education and the innovation and practice of the party's theory and ideological and political education work of college students respectively. The mode is characterized by the coherence of working objectives, the advance of educational philosophy, the validity of management, the comprehensiveness of service system and the professional workteam. Education, management, service, growth and cultivation plays different functions in the model. To build "five-elements-one-entity" ideological and political education mode among undergraduates, firstly, we should raise awareness to make sure the important status of ideological and political education; secondly, we should form a cohesive force to integrate various resources of ideological and political education; thirdly, we should stick to the principle of educating students by all the teaching staff to form a cooperative working mechanism; fourly, we should optimize teamwork to promote the professionalization of ideological and political education among undergraduates.
