The Socialist Core Value System And The Values Education Of Contemporary College Students

As is the spirit of the sixteen plenary session of the 16th Central Commission and the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, it is of great importance to construct the socialist core value system, and formulating the strenuous and harmonious spiritual strength. We should also hold highly the guiding ideology of Marxism, the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics, patriotism as the core of the national spirit and reform and innovation as the core spirit of the times and the socialist concept of honor as he basic elements of the socialist core value system. Contemporary College students are main force in building a socialist harmonious society and successors of promoting the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In the new situation of social transition and reform and opening, advanced culture coexists with the backward culture in the context of cultural diversity, and the coexistence of ideology with non-mainstream ideology. In this case, it is bound to guide the students with correct and positive values under the socialist core value system. How to strengthen college education in values becomes an important research topic of ideological and political education. Starting with the basic content of socialist core value system and basing on current situation of the college students values, this article does research on how to educate contemporary college students with socialist core value system, how to guide contemporary college students values development. In particular, the article discusses four parts:The first part gives a brief introduction of the current state contemporary college students' values. We have found that the mainstream values of Chinese contemporary students are good, such as the positive political attitude, pragmatic thinking. But there are a lot of Deviation values founded on the part of college students, such as the tendency of shifting from the community based development to individual based one, the rise of individualism; the tendency of practical ideals, the shift from ideals-oriented to practicality-oriented college students; happiness concept of deletion and the lack of freedom; the loss of values of perssonality and the life,; the loss of values of love and consumer; weakening the national spirit and other systems. The paper gives an analysis of these issues and haves listed the causes as follows: social factors, cultural factors, technology factors, family factors, school factors and the studengts themselves factors.The second part deals with the socialist core value system of contemporary historical choice of values education students. The paper points out the development and connotation of core socialist value system, and the necessity and urgency of guiding college students under the core value system. The paper also points out the uttermost importance of the role, functions of core value system in college value education.. Socialist core value system includes four aspects, namely, the basic content of Marxism Guiding ideology, the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics and patriotism is the core of the national spirit centered on reform and innovation, and the spirit of The Times, the "eight honors & eight disgraces" as the main contents of the socialist concept of honor and disgrace. These four aspects the basic content of the relationship between each other, constitute the dialectical unity of an organic whole.
