This article begins with the concept of life-oriented teaching to analyze and describe the necessity, the feasibility and specific methods on life-oriented teaching of poems in junior middle school Chinese through the investigations on poem teaching in junior middle school Chinese.In the process of all-around implementation of new courses at middle schools, students are encouraged to understand significances and values of teaching of Chinese, especially poems, through social practice and life. They shall not only strive to improve their own creativity and practicability but also learn to care for the progress of both the country and the society and to think about the harmonious development of both the mankind and the world to develop a positive attitude towards life. It will promote their "all-around development" to carry out the case study activities about Chinese poems in combination with the practical social life.Poems are an inexhaustible source in the life-oriented teaching of the Chinese course. At the junior middle school stage, the reading of a large number of beautiful poems provides a feasible and quantitative deposit for Chinese poems going into the junior middle schools. Poems are an inexhaustible source in the life-oriented teaching of the Chinese course. The life-oriented teaching of poems is to set the poem teaching activity in a realistic life background; reading poems is to feel and understand what emotions those authors expressed in accordance with the readers'personal experience; "soak and taste" is a valuable experience on life-oriented teaching of Chinese classical poems. The stories behind poems can extend and verify the life experience of students and improve their interest in learning poems. The life-oriented comparative reading is in favor of having a better understanding on the unique life philosophies of those poets. The poem teaching shall return to life. The poem teaching is born in life. Poems can be found and used everywhere in life. The life-oriented teaching of poems can not only overcome the weakness of the traditional poem teaching, which only emphasizes the poem reading, but also optimize the teaching process o that the quality-oriented education, centering on the innovative spirit and the execution, can be fulfilled effectively. The article also describes the relationship between the life-oriented poem teaching on one hand and the rural culture resources and the activities of poems going into schools on the other. To apply the local poem culture resources in the life-oriented poem teaching consciously can both broaden the students'knowledge scope and improve their interest in learning poems. The activities carried out at the author's school in that regard are taken for example to demonstrate that. With the above methods, poems can go into schools more effectively to build poetic schools and promote the life orientation of poem teaching.The life-oriented poem teaching at junior middle schools is in favor of developing the students'ability of appreciating poems and their imagination. The following points are highlighted:the importance of implementing the life-oriented poem teaching on developing the students'ability of appreciating poems and their imagination; improving their ability of tasting the poetic language from the point of life; understanding ideas and emotions expressed in poems; and comprehending the versatile skills of expression. The life-oriented poem teaching shall attach importance to inspiring the students'imagination. It asks Chinese teachers to grasp this bright pearl of "imagination" tightly in the ocean of poems to strengthen to cultivate and improve the students'human culture.There is a huge space for the life-oriented poem teaching. When it comes to connecting poems with life, it will not be easy because it's necessary to think carefully for a lot of life-oriented introduction. Therefore, teachers shall keep on studying and thinking deep for their teaching design on detailing it. It's of great value to carry out trials on the life-oriented teaching of Chinese poems. It will not only yield a practical effect of teaching but also be well-received by students.
