With the development of China's reform of the curriculum, new ideas of education have been put forward. It has a great impact on the traditional thoughts and ideas of education, which brings high school history teaching into the transitional period, and many problems requiring further study have arisen. As an important part in the process of history teaching, homework plays an irreplaceable role in achieving the teaching aims. With the development of the educational theory and teaching practice, the functions of homework attract more and more attention. The article aims at analyzing the development and characteristics of the homework of high school history teaching in the following aspects.Part1. Introduction:This part analyzes the fact that the research on the homework of history teaching is required by the educational reform and the practice of history teaching from the standpoints of history curriculum reform and the current situation of history teaching. Meanwhile, this part defines what is to be expounded by revising the research on homework of history done by predecessors.Part2. The developing ideas of history homework:The emphasis of this part lies in preliminary discussion on the development of ideas of history homework. Discussing about the development of education theories, the goal setting of the curriculum and the change of testing system, it discloses the fact that the development of the ideas of history homework is a constant improvement process, and also distinguishes the modern ideas of homework of the new curriculum from the conventional ones.Part3. The development of history homework of high school. This part also sums up the different characteristics of history homework in different periods by exploring its distribution, patterns, content, aims and functions. Since the foundation of new China, homework system of high school history textbooks has developed from the embryonic form of homework to the formalization of conventional homework system, and from the bud of new homework to the homework system of the new curriculum.
