Research On State Key Laboratory In Universitices Based On Cross-disciplinary

Nowadays, a country's comprehensive strength, international status and national security increasingly depend on the technological development. Major breakthrough and growth mostly develop from intersection of different disciplines throughout the history of science. But in reality, interdisciplinary research has encountered resistance from various parties, lacking of strong support of the organization. Therefore, how to build a better platform for interdisciplinary innovation, how to improve the overall level of scientific research and original creativity are the concerns of the government, universities, research institutions and related areas.State Key Laboratory in University of China ("lab" for short) is the object of this study. The lab, as the national team which carries out basic research, is deployed and supported in priority by governments and universities. It has comprehensive advantages of the talent, discipline, funds and equipment for cross-disciplinary researches. This paper selects the lab as the representative, aiming to enrich interdisciplinary theories and promote the development of related political scientific system.In light of research methods, the paper not only combines historical and case study methods, but also qualitative and quantitative researches. The logical framework is from the history to the present, from the whole to the part. The introduction section covers the background, significance, research status, definition and so on. Chapterâ…¡makes the historical context of cross research in the lab clear, through reviewing the Manhattan Project, World Warâ…¡arms race and other important historical events. Chapterâ…¢studies on the overall situation of interdisciplinary research in the lab quantitatively, focusing on the breadth and span of cross-disciplinary research. Chapterâ…£researches on the dynamic and protection mechanism of the lab. Chapterâ…¤is a typical case study. It is state key laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research constructed by East China Normal University. The last part is some countermeasures and suggestions.It can be indicated from this study that, there are incomparable advantages of the State Key Laboratory in University carrying out interdisciplinary research on the one hand. Yet on the other hand, it is not perfect, also restricted by the subject barriers, traditional values and mechanism obstacles. By combining the organizational innovation theory, this paper presents the following proposals:first, we should grasp the strategic positioning clearly to optimize the organizational structure of the lab further. Second, we should guide the researchers positively to create a lab atmosphere of cooperation further. Third, we should continue to integrate the advantaged resources effectively to improve the layout of disciplines in the lab. Finally, we should keep on improving the operational mechanism gradually to nurture organizational culture of the lab.
