| In recent years, it is very urgent to build logistics laboratories in the universities of China. Students’ abilities can be cultivated in those logistics laboratories, and then they can meet the market demand. For this situation, thebasic status of Logisticsdisciplines in Central South University of Forestry and Technology (CSUFT) is analyzed. Starting from function of the logistics laboratory, we explore how to build a modern logistics Laboratory in CSUFT, how to give full play to all of its functions. At last, the construction of modern logistics laboratory center is carried out planning and design.. The main work includes the following aspects:1. Combined with the characteristics of the logistics disciplines, the necessity of logistics laboratory construction is introduced. Construction of logistics laboratory meets the policy-oriented of industrial development of all levels of government, the objective demand to improve quality of teaching, and the demand to cultivate innovative talents. It also can help to improve the academic standards of teachers.2. The feasibility of setting up modern logistics laboratory is systematic researched. It includes five aspects:1)University emphasis is the leading security of modern logistics laboratory center.2) Perfect discipline system is the main value and support of the modern logistics laboratory center.3) Good team of teachers is the intelligence base for modern logistics laboratory center.4) Standardized management system is to ensure the normal operation of the laboratory center.5) State financial support is strong material guarantee experimental center of modern logistics of the laboratory center.3. Introduction of the construction of modern logistics laboratory center budget and specific equipment configuration.4. Thefunctionsofmodern logistics laboratoryisanalyzedsystematicly, It’sgeneral fun ctions, teaching functions and service function for society are explained.5. Theoveralllayoutofthelaboratoryis focusedon,whichincludes:Modern Logistics F acilitySub Laboratory, Transportation Engineering and Information Management Sub Labo ratory, Supply chain integration Sub Laboratory and Logistics System Planning and Simula tion Sub Laboratory. At the same time introduce background and project planning and design institute, to budget funds. 6. The results of laboratory construction is analyzed from five aspects:Teaching effectiveness, Scientific research results, The effect of social services.Based on analysis of environment, technology and functions, research result is proposed in this paper.
