Disasters have always been with us humans. From time immemorial, various natural disasters interrupted humans frequently, causing great damage to people's lives and habitat. With the development of industrialization, more varieties of disasters have come out. The more frequently they break out, the greater damage they cause to human society. Obviously, disasters have become a huge threat to human beings, meanwhile, a tough problem every country must face to survive and develop. Therefore, it sure is a mission for all the countries to learn how to prevent and reduce natural disasters. According to International Ten-Year-Program for Natural Disaster Reduction, education is the center of the program and knowledge is the crux. Although there are some scholars researching the education of disasters, there is still a lack in the theories and practice interrelated, especially in the fields of basic education and national education. It is because of the deficiency of knowledge about disasters that our country find it hard to improve the efficiency of prevent and reduce natural disasters . To conclude, the education of disasters needs to be strengthened.The new curriculum reform ensures the curriculum provision of more flexibility. The three-level curricular system encourages school-based curriculum, which are mainly held by school teachers, taking advantage of the local and school curricular resources, to satisfy the selective needs of the studentsThe following essay discusses the scientific approaches to conducting the education of disasters by means of school-based curriculum. The writer has put his idea into practice with the support of such courses in High School Attached to NENU and is now trying to illustrate his performance in detail.
