| Independent college is an important achievement in the process of reform and innovation of Chinese higher education in recent 10 years and it is a need in the development of higher education in China. Since it was born in June,1999, there had been 322 independent colleges all around the country by April 2009. The rapid development of independent college has played a positive role in alleviating shortage of higher education resource. The independent colleges in our country have undertaken education for more than thirty percent of the undergraduates. In the development of independent college, there are also some problems and contradictions which limit and restrict the development of independent colleges. Therefore the study into independent college, especially the study into the construction of the teaching staff has become an urgent problem, for it has become a bottleneck in the development of independent college.Located in the west, Sichuan province belongs to the underdeveloped regions and its education is relatively backward. From its first appearance in 2004 to 2009, the number of independent college has risen to 13, which shows independent college has played an important part in higher education of Sichuan. The teachers of the ideological and political course, among all the teaching staff in independent colleges, are very important strengths. They are the learners, researchers and propagators of the Party's theories, principles and policies; they are guides of the healthy growth of college students. In the new circumstances, to strengthen teaching staff of the ideological and political course is of extremely vital significance to improving the teaching level, to promoting Marxism theory as well as cultivating qualified constructors and reliable successors for the socialist cause of Chinese characteristics.The construction of teaching staff of the ideological and political course in independent colleges of Sichuan has obtained many achievements through persistent efforts. For example, the number of full-time teachers has increased, teachers' titles and educational level have improved; "2005's plan of ideological and political course" has been carried out; students' ideological quality has increased obviously; the course system of teaching staff construction has perfected gradually. Meanwhile, there are till some problems, such as irrational structure of teaching staffs' age, title and education level; the small proportion between teachers and students, heavy burden of teachers; the big fluidity of teachers and the instability of the team; teachers' lack of opportunities for training and learning; poor effect of classroom teaching and students' lack of extracurricular social practice; teachers'laying more stress on teaching than research, little scientific research result.Based on the existing research results, started with the definition and contents of the teaching staff construction of ideological and political course and related to the current situation of teaching staff in Sichuan independent colleges, this paper analyzes the achievements and currently existing problems in teaching staff construction of the ideological and political course in independent colleges of Sichuan, and tries to find out the causes in the aspect of society, schools, teachers and students. By analyzing the problems and causes in the construction of teaching staff, this thesis offers some feasible strategies to the construction work of teaching staff, hoping to provide certain reference value for the construction of the ideological and political course teaching staff and for the overall development of independent colleges in Sichuan. |
