The teachers' professional development has become the common goals and values of the international reform of teachers' education in recent years. The professional development of physical education teachers is an important factor in promoting sports education reform and improving the quality of teaching. The professional development of PE teachers is the target and direction of teachers training and as one part of the teaching team, PE teachers should actively response to the times by improving their professional level and inspiring their professional development motive and professional development planning consciousness. Therefore, the study of the sports teachers' professional development in higher vocational colleges is of important theoretical and practical significance.On the basis of inspection of a large number of references and some expert interviews, a questionnaire was conducted in some vocational physical education teachers and experts in Anhui province. The sports teachers' worked structure and the record of formal schooling and title, the professional ideas, professional satisfaction, professional knowledge, professional teaching skills, working status were studied. By statistical processing and analysis of the survey results, the following aspects can be concluded:1. There are many problems in PE teachers in Anhui vocational colleges including the professional idea, the professional knowledge and skills and they are unfavorable to the professional development of PE teachers' specialization. P.E. teachers specialization was specially needed to be inproved in anhui vocational schools.2. Professional ideas of teachers' professional sports are necessary prerequisites in sports teachers' professional development, we can not only emphasize the school administrative functions.3. Higher vocational P.E. teachers' professional knowledge and ability structure are not good enough as professional requirements, so it is necessary to strengthen the teaching and scientific research ability of the PE teachers.4. In order to promote PE teachers' specialization in vocational schools, it is important to emphasize particularly on the teacher training mode and the characteristic of PE teachers specialization.
