On the basis of literature analysis, internet survey and comparative analysis, this paper researched on the main characteristics of 16 typical network teaching platforms based on constructivism learning theory, which selected from china and abroad. This paper first attempted to define the conception of network teaching platform from a new point of view, and analyzed the status of some related researches at home and abroad. And then the paper summarized the learning theory and learning environment building principle of constructivism. The key part of this paper investigated the basic functions of the 16 selected platforms, functional classification and using vertical analysis and horizontal comparison to study the functional characteristics of network teaching platforms at home and abroad, The main conclusions are that: (1) the functions and characteristics in teaching resources integrating, cognitive learning tool, instructional strategy, teaching assessment function are especially evident of the 11 foreign platforms, they act as a tool for building e-learning environments in which the student can study by cooperating, communicating and self-exploring. (2) by horizontal comparison between the platforms at home and abroad, the basic functions have no significant differences, but the China platforms are not yet sophisticated enough functionally, such as lack of cognitive learning tool, instructional strategy and Assessment support function are relatively weak and so on, which unfavorable to create Cooperative and Interactive learning environments, also, the platform development technology exist gaps between home and abroad. (3) There exist difference of notion in platform development between china and abroad, the foreign platform development pays attention to the guide of constructivism learning theory, provided learning activities design and instructional strategy support. Emphasizes learning by doing. The home platform development pays attention to the design of learning content, provided the student with rich learning materials, such as all kinds of electronic textbooks, teaching plans, exercises, multimedia resources and so on, it suit for independent learning, question-answering assisted learning.Finally, combing the situations of China network teaching platform development and application, the author gives some related enlightenment that enhance the studding of open source developing model from abroad, and integrate all kinds of social software, reform the network teaching concept, promote developments and applications of home teaching platform, provide power support for constructivism learning environment building and promote the cultivation of innovative talents via information technology. |
