Research On Identifying Method Of College Impoverished Students And Their Financial Assistance System

With the continuously deepening reform in our country's higher education system, the higher education sharply underwent a change from depending state support to personal paying . In the process of the compelled transformation, the government pay more attention to the development of the higher education, the lack of outlay for education and cost apportionment rather than the burden of the family with low or middle income so that the phenomenon of college impoverished students becomes prominent. In this paper, after analytic demonstration, the author makes an analysis on the impoverished students in some college of Jiangnan University.Firstly, multi-layer fuzzy method are applied to identify impoverished students. Moreover, layer analyzing method is used to gain these weights of evaluating factor accurately. Examples show that this method have higher accuracy and steerable, and avoid some subjective uncertainty of traditional methods.Secondly, after analyzing affecting factors of economic supporting net for impoverished students by Logistic regression model, the author finds that provision of livelihood of impoverished students in our university mainly depends on unofficial relational aiding rather than state stipends and bank loans which should have played an important role in the financial assistance system for impoverished students. This is also presently a main problem to be further perfected in the system.At last, some assessment indices are designed for the financial assistance system for impoverished students in University, and a fuzzy assessment system is established. Taking Jiangnan University as samples, the problems and shortcomings of current financial assistance system for impoverished students are analyzed, and then some suggestions are given on improvement of the financial assistance system for impoverished students at the aspects of government, society, university and family.
